.TRAVEL domain policies

.TRAVEL is regulated by the Tralliance registry.  The eligibility requirements have recently been loosened.  Registrants of .travel domains must  be (or plan to be) a creator or provider of travel and tourism products, goods, services or content.

Eligibility details

To register for a .travel domain, the registrant is required to provide a unique identifying number (UIN). This UIN can be obtained by completing this form on the registry's website.

.TRAVEL registrations require verification that the registrant is currently, or intends to be involved in the travel industry.  The following list is not exhaustive, but outlines the types of businesses/individuals that may register a .TRAVEL domain:

b. Attractions/Theme Parks
c. Bed & Breakfast Houses
d. Bus/Taxi/Limousine Operators
e. Camp Facility Operators
f. Vehicle Rental Companies/Airport Specialty Car Park Companies
g. Computer Reservation/Travel Technology Provider
h. Convention & Visitor's Bureaus
i. Cruise Lines
j. Ferries
k. Hotels/Resorts/Casinos
l. National Tourism Offices
m. Passenger Rail Lines
n. Restaurants
o. Tour Operators
p. Travel Agents
q. Travel Media
r. Travel-Consumer and Market Research Organizations
s. Travel Insurance
t. Travel Training Institutes
u. Suppliers of goods or services to the eligible industry participants set out in these defined sectors
v. Creators and providers of travel and tourism products, services and content
x. Travel technology providers
y. Travel media providers

A registrant must maintain eligibility throughout the term of the license, including renewal. If the registrant ceases to be a member of the travel industry as defined by current policies and practices of the Registry, then the registrant must give notice of such change within 14 days of ceasing to be eligible.


.TRAVEL domains can be renewed for further terms of a minimum one year, subject to the current terms and conditions - this must be done by having auto-renewed enabled and cannot be done manually.  This TLD auto-renews 45 days after expiry.

Registrants renewing a name may be required to provide, update or confirm all information required in an initial application, including eligibility information.
